Our History

The name Ascertiva

NICEIC was formed in 1956 in response to concerns regarding electrical safety in the home. 

In 2006 the charity renamed itself the Electrical Safety Council and NICEIC Group was formed as the trading subsidiary. 

In 2009 it was decided to rename NICEIC Group as part of a new strategy which reflected the company’s aims and vision for its future.

In 2013, a new joint venture was formed by Ascertiva’s parent charity the Electrical Safety Council with the Electrical Contractors’’ Association. This new joint venture, known as Certsure LLP now operates the NICEIC brand. Visit www.certsure.com for more information.
