Working for us

The Ascertiva Group incorporates the following brands: NICEIC, NICEIC Certification and NQA.  As we work across many different business units, we have a very diverse range of jobs at different levels across the Ascertiva Group. 

We’re always keen to find out what people have to say about working here and how we can improve for the future.  An Employee Survey was carried out at the beginning of 2010 to find out people’s opinions and suggestions, and generally listen to what people have to say.  To find out some of the results click on Facts and Figures.

The following roles are just a small selection of  the jobs we have across our business units:

“I joined the NICEIC in 2004, initially managing a team who were responsible for implementing a new venture for the Group.  My team expanded over the years and more recently I’ve taken on additional responsibilities. 

My role is extremely varied; covering people management, process improvement, customer service and budget management, to name just a few areas!  During a normal day, I can talk to both internal and external people including Government departments, consumers and suppliers.

One of my greatest achievements while working here has been being part of a team who were involved in taking Government legislation and creating a whole new process within NICEIC, supporting electrical contractors and their customers. 

I’ve also been lucky enough to be part of the Group’s Talent Development Programme – this provides me with specific training to develop and challenge me in my career.  I see it as an honour to have been chosen to join the Programme.

“I wanted to come and work for the NICEIC as I consider it to have such a great reputation throughout the industry.

My day-to-day work involves arranging visits with approved contractors to assess the work they do, ensuring that it meets NICEIC requirements.  I also assess new applicants and help them to achieve NICEIC status.  I go to see many varied sites with contractors, ranging from chicken farms and stud farms, to supermarkets, stately homes and building sites!

I enjoy meeting contractors and talking to them about their work and discussing the technical aspects of the installations. I enjoy working for NICEIC as it offers a great variety in terms of technical problems and the people that you meet.”

 “I have lots of knowledge and experience of working as an electrician.  I have always considered the NICEIC as the industry standard for approving contractors engaged in the electrotechnical industry, and for providing technical support.

When the opportunity arose to join the Group I was delighted to accept the challenge.  I am currently working as an Operations Engineer with a variety of responsibilities, including assisting on the technical helpline.

Although I have only been here a short time it has already been a fantastic experience.  I have learnt so much about an industry that I have already spent almost 40 years in, through helping customers with their questions and with input and support from my colleagues. “NQA is a great place to work.  A lot has changed within the company in the short time I have been here and it is truly an exciting time for the business.

I have developed BS EN 16001 as a product that NQA can offer certification for, and have done a great deal of research into other environmental standards.  I’ve become heavily involved in client management, and am now managing a large number of multi-site clients. The work is diverse, interesting and is having a visible effect on the company – which is very satisfying.”

“I came to work for NQA as a temp in 1996, starting off in the Training team before working as Secretary to the Commercial Director. 

I moved across to NICEIC in 2005, working as a Team Leader in the Domestic Installer Administration Team.  My role has evolved over the years and provides me with lots of challenges, as well as giving me great job satisfaction.   

During the last 14 years I have made many friends across the Group.  I enjoy coming into work and am looking forward to a future with the Ascertiva Group.”
